German-French Connection

Join Master of Wine Romana Echensperger, one of the world’s foremost German and French wine experts, on a once-in-a-lifetime tour of the incredible wines of Alsace, Baden and Pfalz. Sample the great German Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), taste why Sekt (German Sparkling Wine) is the next big thing in Germany and beyond, and understand the different expressions of French and German Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer. You’ll also explore the area from a gastronomic point of view, including dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant.

Gain a sense of place with this immersive exploration of the region, unpacking its complexity through expert-led seminars and tastings of over 125 wines. Enjoy several intimate visits each day with some of the best wine producers and vineyards, led by Napa Valley Wine Academy CEO and Official Bourgogne Ambassador, Christian Oggenfuss, dipWSET. Guided cultural visits include the Athenaeum Wine Bookstore, Vézelay Basilica and the Clos de Vougeot Château — a 12th century wine farm and 16th century chateau that have become one of the very best “table d’hôte” of France.
