Do you teach WSET courses in Los Angeles?
Napa Valley Wine Academy does not currently run WSET classroom cohorts in Los Angeles. Los Angeles students take the WSET Level 1, 2 and 3 Awards in Wines online, as live instructor-led cohorts or self-paced on-demand courses, and the qualification is identical to the classroom version. Every course includes the WSET study materials, exam registration and the exam fee.
What we do run in person in LA are events: the two-day Champagne Specialist Course at Maestro's Ocean Club, 1200 South Figueroa Street, downtown, and occasional masterclasses. They appear in the listings below as they are scheduled. For a WSET classroom, our nearest campus is Napa, where Levels 1 to 3 and the bootcamps run year-round.

Most LA studentsInstructor-led cohorts with live, recorded webinars: four weeks at Level 1, five at Level 2, ten at Level 3. Or on-demand at Levels 1 and 2, starting the moment you enroll. Tasting wines from our list, or as a 100 ml sample kit from our partner Small Lot Bottles.
Exams: Levels 1 and 2 online from home. Level 3 in person at one of eight US venues; Buellton, CA is the nearest to Los Angeles.

A week in Napa
ClassroomOur Napa campus teaches WSET Levels 1, 2 and 3 in person year-round, with the wines poured for you, and runs the Level 2 and Level 3 bootcamps and the Winemaker Bootcamp. A short flight from LAX to SFO or SMF, then an hour or more by road.
Best for: students who want the classroom, the tasting flight and a few days in wine country.

Exams
Where Los Angeles students sit their exams
Levels 1 and 2: online, from home, with remote invigilation, on a date you choose after the course. Level 3: in person. Napa Valley Wine Academy runs Level 3 sittings at eight US venues; Buellton, CA, in Santa Barbara County, is the nearest to Los Angeles, and Napa hosts sittings twice a month. Tuition covers the WSET study materials, exam registration and the exam fee. Group savings apply automatically: 5% off for two students, 8% for three, 10% for four or more.

Studying WSET from Los Angeles
Is there a Napa Valley Wine Academy campus in Los Angeles?
No. We run in-person events in Los Angeles, such as the Champagne Specialist Course at Maestro's Ocean Club downtown, but WSET Levels 1 to 3 are taken online by Los Angeles students. Our nearest WSET classroom is the Napa campus.
Where is the Champagne Specialist Course held in LA?
At Maestro's Ocean Club, 1200 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015, in downtown LA. The course runs over two days; the listing carries the current dates.
Where do I sit the WSET Level 3 exam if I live in Los Angeles?
The Level 3 exam is in person. Our nearest sitting to Los Angeles is Buellton, CA, in Santa Barbara County; Napa hosts sittings twice a month, and the other venues are Denver, Chicago, Nashville, Jersey City, San Antonio and Tampa. Levels 1 and 2 are examined online from home.
Can I complete WSET entirely online from LA?
Yes, at Levels 1 and 2: both the course and the exam are online. Level 3 is taught online with an in-person exam. The Level 4 Diploma is taught online with examinations in Napa. The WSET online wine courses page compares the formats.
Will WSET classroom courses return to Los Angeles?
When an LA cohort is scheduled it will appear in the Los Angeles listings and on this page. Until then the online cohorts and the Napa campus are the two routes.
