As an instructor for Napa Valley Wine Academy, Diane brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of enology to her teaching. She completed her M.Sc. in Enology at UC Davis and has worked at prestigious wineries and wine research institutes in Europe and California. Her background in food chemistry and brief tenure in the nutraceutical industry has further contributed to her understanding of the wine-making process. Her tenure at wineries such as Domaine Jacques Prieur in Meursault, Burgundy, Rebholz winery in Pfalz, Germany, Heitz Cellars, Donelan Family Wines, and multiple boutique wine brands at custom crush facilities has enabled her to gain insight into the nuances of different terroirs and work with some of the best mentors in the industry. In 2018, Diane founded Lanthanide Wine Group to bring rare and undiscovered Californian terroir to more people. She is a WSET diploma holder and a candidate in the Master of Wine Program. She is passionate about educating others about wine. Diane, who hails from China and has been living in North America for the past 12 years, also enjoys connecting the wine world to her cultural heritage and applying her understanding of different cultures to Food and Wine Pairing.
