WSET Level 2 Certifications

This qualification has a minimum requirement of 28 hours of study time, including 16 hours of classroom or online delivery time.

WSET Level 1 Foundation Certifications

An excellent way to jump-start your career in wine.

You’ll explore the main styles and types of either wine, spirits, or sake (depending on the course you choose) through sight, smell, and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavors and aromas. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

  • The key white and black grape varieties and their characteristics (for the wine course only)
  • The important wine and/or spirits producing regions of the world
  • The production of sparkling, sweet, and fortified wines
  • Label terminology
  • Food and wine pairing principles
  • The principal categories of spirits and liqueurs, and how they are made
  • How to describe wine and/or spirits style using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting® (SAT)

NOTES:

  • Courses are offered in-person and online.
  • Exams must be taken in-person or online within 12 months of taking the course.
  • All course materials and textbooks, including any test fees, are included.
