Winemaking and viticulture are two of the most well-known career paths in the wine industry, but they are far from the only options. For those with a passion for wine and a talent for sales and promotion, a wine sales and marketing career may be the perfect fit. Wine sales and marketing professionals are critical in building brand awareness and securing sales for wine distributors, wineries, and importers.

Wine education and sommelier careers offer individuals with a love for wine and a desire to share their knowledge with others an opportunity to do just that. Wine educators can educate others in a classroom or serve as wine experts in a restaurant or wineries. On the other hand, Sommeliers use their extensive knowledge of wine to help diners make informed decisions about what to drink with their meals.

Wine writing and journalism is another exciting career path for those with a talent for writing and a love for wine. Wine writers and critics have the opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions with others through articles, reviews, and books. Whether you want to publish your own book or write for a wine magazine or website, a wine writing and criticism career offers the chance to significantly impact the industry.

In addition to providing comprehensive education, WSET also offers opportunities for networking and building valuable connections within the wine industry. This can lead to new career opportunities and long-lasting relationships within the industry.
