The Basics Classes
Napa Valley Wine Academy is a wine school created by wine industry insiders and wine instructors who want to share their excitement for and knowledge of wine. Sometimes, all we want are the basics or just good wine fun – and these classes aim to please. The Basics are 2 to 3 hour courses and always include wine and small bites to taste.
Wine Tasting Fundamentals
1 hour course • $65
A ‘wine tour in a glass’ which takes you through several grape varieties and helps you make sense out of the aromas and flavors of wine. The class is an energetic and informative one hour course covering the basics of tasting wine while exploring 6 wines.

How to Read Wine Labels
Not only will you sip some pretty fabulous wines but you depart this class knowledgeable about how to accurately asses a wine using your senses.
It's A Bubbly World - Sparkling Wines from around the world:
2 hour course • $75
All that sparkles is not Champagne nor need it be. Join us as we explore the different styles of sparkling wines. This tasting and discussion focuses on the great sparkling wines from Champagne, Franciacorta, Penedes, Veneto, California, and more. This class is sure to have you bubbling over with joy.
The Magic - Wine & Cheese Pairing Secrets:
1 1/2 hour course • $65
Get pairing secrets straight from the cheese expert. Our resident Cheese Monger will work with our Academy instructors to provide premium, delectable cheeses paired with fine wines. By the end of this two-hour course, you will have many great pairing ideas to take home and build upon.
